More about
Moon Moth Magic

Moon Moth Magic began as a way to give back to the writing community.

After writing for several decades, I could never figure out how to get past the first or second draft of a work. I always felt stuck and like there wasn’t enough support to reach out. I always felt like I had to keep my writing a secret in comparison to my day job. There’s a lot of support out there for first drafts, but the information to bridge the gap between edits and publishing was hard to find. So I went back to school for my BA in English with a focus on Creative Writing.

I loved it so much that I followed that pretty quickly with my MFA in English and Creative Writing. There, I found what I loved to do.

Developmental Editing and Coaching.

I found the support and encouragement that I’d been missing when I kept my writing more of a secret. I found I love helping and inspiring other writers like me.

Thus, Moon Moth Magic was born!

I love every aspect of writing and craft, of plot and story, and of characters and their motivations.

I would love to help you with your works in progress.

More about Lit By Lantern

During the first year of my MFA, I had a lot of grief and loss. In the space of 12 (long) months:

  • Ten people in my social circles passed away, (eight of which in the first five months) including my grandfather, my husband’s grandmother, and our roommate

  • My husband had some health issues and surgeries

  • I crashed a car (with no injuries)

The writing program that had inspired me to great heights closed.

My writing took a backseat to everything right as I was about to begin building a career and following my dreams.

My creativity suffered, but I knew how to navigate to get it back.

With my RN and my knowledge of the writing and healing process, Lit by Lantern was born.

Other writers and creatives have to be struggling too.

I’m here to help.
